welcome back to rc 101 with the taoistflyer today we're going to talk about the avatars z008 four channelrc helicopter now i picked this up off ebay for about forty dollarsit is a fully functional four channel helicopter you've got your up downyou've got your role left and role right forward reversed and spin however this is a mode one helicopter itis not a mode two helicopter a little word on modes in the u_s_we use mode two, that means that your throttle is going to be on the leftstick, throttle-up and down and your spin is also going to be on the left stick
the right stick is reserved for forwardand reverse and roll left and roll right now with mode one however the controls are reversed so it's like taking your steering wheel and your gas pedal and switching them around so it a hurts yourbrain a little bit to fly if your used to flying mode 2 now mode one is traditionallyused in europe and australia but it is not used in theu_s_ mode one means the left stick has your thrust up and down when you move up and down with it and leftand right controls your role
left and right mode too which is what we used in theu_s_ up-and-down controls up-and-down and the left stick moving left and rightmakes the helicopter spin left and right now considering the fact that i've beenflying mode two for about three or four years and i've never really flown mode onebefore i've only had about ten flights on this i'm going to do my best to show you how thisaircraft performs it is a very precise aircraft it's really fast
it's got good forward reverse motionit's got a really precise spin like i said i've never really flown modeone you pretty much decide either mode one or mode two and stick with it so it's kind of hurts my brain a little bit to fly this around but i'll try and do my best to make it as precise as i can show you theperformance that it can actually give now the flight times going to be aboutfive minutes and the charge time from the transmitter is about fifty minutesbut if you use the included usb charger the charge time is really only about twentyminutes so i suggest always using the usb
charger don't charge off the transmitter and waste your batteries. so let's go ahead and give you a littleflight demonstration here the best one i can give you like i said i've only had five or six flights on mode one so it may be a little twitchy comparedto my normal flying we'll see what we can do it does have a trim for the steering, it's pretty precise. you can see that the gyro that it has on it does have on it keeps it facing front pretty stably
i'll give it a little trim their you see it actually it does roll left and roll right so as you can see for a four channel it is pretty precise unfortunately my mode one skills are not as good as my mode two skills so it was a little shaky in the air but i think i'm getting the hang of it ok
it is a gyro stabilized helicopter it really is a fully functional four channel it's a lot of fun to fly, it's really stable, it's easy to fly the shipping did take a while ittook about two-and-a-half weeks to get out to me but for forty dollars it's a fully functionalfour channel rc helicopter and i know they're not riding on anyfamous james cameron movies with the avatar name our nameanything like that. so that's the avatar z008 four channel rc helicopter
