How To Flashing zync q8
hello internet, welcome to bikepark leogangin austria, gorgeous place! we're at the slopestyle course today, we'reshooting a project with my buddy matt jones over here. it's a pretty special project, it's somethingi've had in the works for 2 years now, and yeah, we'll be mounting a flash on a droneand lighting from the sky. but before that, we're going to take some portraits. and now on to the main event. the motivation with this project is that whennormally shooting slopestlye, the distances are usually so great that to shoot it withflash is just kind of impossible.
so, in my work, i really like the light tobe motivated, in that it really fits in the scene, it doesn't look super flashed, like super fake. so i had the idea to mount a flash on a drone. i really wanted to take it to it's logicalextreme, so i'm gonna be using a studio style strobe today, the elinchrom elb400. it's super compact, it's super lightweightand it's perfect for what we're doing. with these two things together we're going to beable to put this 425w/s of power anywhere we want in 3d space. hello!
so my name's matt jones, i'm a uk red bullathlete, i do slopestyle mountain biking. as an athlete and a mountainbike rider, i'veworked quite a lot on content so i have experience with drones and riding with drones, but thisis a completely different concept, but yeah, i'm excited to see what comes out of it. so we've got the drone flying overhead lightingup matt, we've these two lights here providing context to the jump, we've got the beautifulmountains in the background. so today i'm operating the drone. actuallywe're used to combine the drone with you know, gimbal and cinema camera. actually today we use a much lighter package, since the flash and battery are really compact.
pretty well balanced in the centre of thedrone, very lightweight package, it gives us pretty cool pictures. so the elb400 is the perfect light for thisjob, basically it's sturdy, it's lightweight, it's compact, it's powerful and in additionto that, we've got the hs functionality which means i can take my camera beyond it's syncspeed and basically put the ambient light wherever i want it. hey, so that's a wrap here in leogang, endof the shooting day. a lot of planning went into this and it allpaid off actually. the elbs performed flawlessly, matt did agood job pulling some sick whirlybirds.
big thanks to everyone for supporting my project,i really wanna thank elinchrom, fstopgear, and the guys at red bull photography, andespecially the guys at bikepark leogang. if you wanna stay up to date with my worki'm davidrobinsonphoto on instagram. mattjonesmtb but yeah, probably follow him! alright! take it easy guys!
