hello today we will show you how to unlock xiaomi devices since a lot of people asked for this, how to unlock and how to install a new version for a phone at this page, you can find the link bellow, you can download the mi flash unlock it's a program that help us unlock the phone after we have got the permission to unlock it. you will need an account we have logged in on our account and we press to download...
it got downloaded already we download this zip file in which we will find some other files we will run the miflashunlock.exe we will agree with whatever it says we singed in with our account it check if we have permission to unlock here it's gonna see that we have i had requested an unlock a long time ago and i have permission to do an unlock
we are going to login on the same account on our phone as well, i am gonna show you how we tap on tools, mi account, sign in and after we wait a little bit we will press sing in with an e-mail account we enter our account and password and we press sign in after we connect our phone we change it to fast boot which we can do it by shutting down the phone and pressing volume down and power button it happens by pressing those 2 buttons
i actualy did a restart not a shut down and it's going to show us this icon we have it connected of course after we have installed the right drivers here on alice's computer it doesn't have the right drivers even so it still recognized it but it might need the drivers for you we will press the unlock for me its going to stop the process at 50%
because i have my phone unlocked already and it says that i don't need to unlock my device because it already is unlocked for you its going to go at 100% if it doesn't go to 100% it means you don't have the right account either in your phone or in your pc for example i have 2 accounts so it might happen but if you have only 1 account it won't happen after you unlock the device we can move to the next step which is installing a new rom i prefer the greek rom but you can install the global or w/e you want
which you can find on the link that i am gonna leave below the video in our case i am going to download a developer greek rom which we are going to install to the phone you can find it here,i am gonna leave the link below and after we are going to place in our the main folder of our phone without unziping it here you will see that it's already inside the main folder of our phone that's our version after we place it in the main folder we will do a process that might be a little harder for someone who has never done anything like that
of course i am gonna explain it as simple as possible, i hope you will understand it on this link there is a greek guide on how to install a greek version in your phone i' ll leave the link below here you can find the drivers the program that contains the drivers, twrp recovery which is the recovery we are going to use to install a custom version with a greek translation it's not the official version it's a custom version it's greek here are the instructions in detail
you will have to become programmers on the phone go at "about phone" tap 5 times the version miui i am already a programmer user then go back and get to additional settings then tap setting for programmers and enable the debug usb after that connect your phone and you can move on to the installation as you can see i already have downloaded a rar that have the adb
which are drivers that you need to have installed in your computer you will find them at the link i am going to give you with the greek community i extract the files at a folder adb i have created as well as the twrp which is the recovery that we said we are going to use at this folder we have the files it had at this zip file plus the twrp that i put here so it will be easier to use them we are going to type at our start menu "cmd" which we will run as administrator and we will go at the file we have the adb
we will type "e:"(hard drive the files are in), "cd adb"(cd space and the folder the files are in), again "cd adb" because it is in a sub folder after we turn our phone at fast boot which as we said you enable it by pressing volume down and power button and we see this while it's connected at the pc we can type some commands that our phone will accept the first command we are going to give is the "fastboot flashrecovery" and the name of file we have for fast recovery the file that's named twrp_gemini_v8.img and after we give the command and it says that everything is ok
it means that now our phone instead of the recovery that has from xiaomi it has the recovery that we installed in case we want to activate the recover either we open our phone while pressing both the volume up and power button or we can give the command "fastboot boot" and name of file we want it open in our case twrp_gemini_v8.img after we do that our phone will show us a menu that is used in order to flash the version we want in case your phone shows you that your storage is 0 gb you will have to do a format data which i will show you now let's give the command to activate the recovery
and the phone will start the custom recovery we have installed by itself here it starts in chinese if we press this key here we can change to whatever languege we want i will put it in english and now we will swipe over here to get in the menu when we press on the install there is a chance it will say 0 gb which means it doesn't read the storage of the phone in that case we will have to go back, tap on wipe
for me the advanced wipe didn't work where we choose what to wipe, for me only format data worked for some people it might work and you will be able to do the advanced wipe and you will have to delete dalvik, system, cache, data and you then swipe you do this to wipe the temporary memory, for me it didn't work and i was forced to do a format which means i had to restart the phone and install again the phone version
and restart again to get in recovery the next step is easy we move down and we select our file that we have already put inside the phone and we just press install image the phone installs this image and then it restarts on its own you will get in the new version which for us is greek in case you have problems it means something went wrong you will have to reinstall it if you have a problem and the phone constantly restarts don't worry
xiaomi phones have more ways to install software there is a way to do a flash without the phone having any file inside i am going to do a reboot there is a program called miflash which we can give it a file which will have to be either the chinese version or the global which will have chinese and english which means your phone isn't going to stop working but it will only have chinese and english language i am going to show you how to do that i have downloaded the mifash which you can find below the video
i have bought the winrar, don't believe what it says. what?! i have bought it....not we run this exe, with this exe it will also write the drivers for the phone, it's good to have them whatever message it pops we are going to press install driver software anyway, we don't care what windows have to say and at the end it's gonna enable the option end we press it, you can find the program at the start menu here after we connect our phone to our pc in whatever state the phone is
we press volume down and power button which will put our phone at fastboot mode with the bunny on the side we will press refresh and it's gonna show us our phone let's do it after we press refresh and it finds its drivers it will show our device down here we are going to choose the version we have downloaded which can't be a custom version it has to be either the global or the chinese version we choose it, we didn't actualy download it because it's 1.1gb
we download the version and we just press flash and it is going to install the global version and therefore our phone won't be at a brick state meaning useless thankfully we will never have that problem with a xiaomi phone in case it doesn't show you phone with fastboot with miflash there is another way to show it it's in case the phone is completly dead we switch it to edl state where it finds it as a com port and nothing more even so you can install the software with miflash and save the phone
and after that we will have to do everything from the start to install the greek version which is easier for us this was our video for today i hope it helped a lot of people because i had many requests for that if you have any question for the flash or the unlock you can comment below i am going to reply to everyone also if you have a problem with the phone and you can't find some solution throught the greek community, which btw helps a lot
